A guardian home is a local family who becomes a forever family to one of our dogs in our breeding program. We choose the puppy that we believe it would be the perfect fit for our breeding program and then we find the perfect guardian home for him ! Guardian Homes allow us to keep breeding good quality dogs avoiding at all costs placing our breeding dogs in kennels and allows the puppy to live a happy life with his/her guardian family forever.Guardian homes are meant to be permanent so that the dog doesn’t need to go through re-homing This program is designed in a way to benefit everyone! Specially the dog, who will live a happy life with his/her family even  after retirement from breeding!

Happy Goldens Farm retains ownership and breeding rights while the dog lives with his guardian family.

*** If you already have another dog you must provide documentation that he/she is fixed before getting a guardian puppy from us***

If you’re the Guardian Family for a female, we will be picking her up to our facilities or our trusted vet to bred her, then we will drop her off to your home for the duration of the pregnancy. After 30 days of mating we will pick her up again to perform an ultrasound and confirm is she is pregnant or not( this normally takes a couple of hours) and then she will be back home to your family. One week before she’s due, she will return to Happy Goldens Farm home to get ready for the birth of her puppies. She will stay in our home until the puppies are weaned and placed in their new homes! Then the guardian dog will return back to you, her guardian family.
If you’re the Guardian Family of a male we only need to pick him up the day that he will be bred and then we will take him back to your home.

Most of the dogs in our guardian homes will be females, but we may have males from time to time in the future. Females will have up to 4 litters and males can be in our program for up to 5 years.( at Happy Goldens Farm discretion) When the guardian dog is of age (24 months old) we will get all of his/her health clearances done : OFA and embark test, if all goes well we will be breed them to a mate of our choosing.In the case that the dog doesn’t meet the results that we are looking to be able to have healthy puppies, he/she will not be able to form part of our breeding program, and will be retired immediately from our program, but, you as your guardian family will be able to keep him/her at not cost.

Guardian Families are responsible for normal dog care. This includes : training, socialization, vet expenses( not breeding related) food and grooming. Happy Goldens Farm is responsible to pay all breeding related expenses.
This includes: insemination ( if applicable),ultrasound, X-ray, male fee( if applicable), food while the female stays at Happy Goldens Farm, fixing the dog at retirement desired date and more. ( everything is detailed in our guardian home contract)

• Living within an hour from Miami, Fl. 

willing to work with families a little bit outside of this range if we think that you’re the perfect fit for our guardian baby !
• Feed the guardian dog with high quality food

(list of food provided in the guardian family contract) 

• Keep the female dogs away from intact males 

• Keep the male dogs away to breed intact females

• training : the dog must pass the Canine Good citizen(CGC) test before reaching 24 months old ( we will provide information to the guardian family about this training program)

• Notify us immediately when the female is in season 

• Provide monthly pics and videos of the guardian home.

• Notify us if the dog has had any accident, health emergency issue and keep us updated on the health of the dog.

• Provide proof of the vaccination status of the dog on all stages of age.

The answer is no! We don’t charge anything to our guardian families, neither when you get the puppy or when he/she retire from breeding, besides other breeders that charge half of the price of the puppy to the guardian home we at Happy Goldens Farm considered you as a FAMILY! We also gave our guardian families a compensation when the guardian dog return back to you, it’s a way to say THANK YOU for the amazing job that you’re doing with your doggie!
